NEXT BOOK: GIRL INTERRUPTED DUE THURS. MAY 3

Our next book is the memoir, Girl, Interrupted, by Susanna Kaysen.

Each student must purchase his or her OWN COPY of the text so you can complete at-home reading assignments and work on the various response assignments and final project. See required texts link for purchasing info via Amazon.com. You are urged to buy a used copy (for as little as a few cents, plus shipping) that is in good or better condition. New copies okay too :)
Please secure your own copy of this text as soon as you can. IT IS DUE THURSDAY MAY 3.

For a complete list of required texts, please see the "Required Texts" box on the home page of the blog.

Independent Reading Response (IRR) Choice Board

Every month you will complete an independent reading book, plus a minimum 500-word response. You will choose from the 15 options on the CHOICE BOARD. Do not repeat choices until all have been used. Please note: You must be signed into your WJPS email to view this document.
Responses are:
*A record that you read, understood and can analyze a book you read on your own.
*Original thought, not summary. Cited as necessary in response. Accompanied by an MLA Works Cited page. Typed in Times New Roman 12 font.
*In response to books you have not read before. You must not books that you have read in other courses in middle school or high school. The more you read, the smarter you become.
*In response to grade level or higher books. Books can be graphic novels (used only once, please) or Wattpad (used only once, please)
*Due at the end of every month. Look at the blog, classroom homework board, and listen for announcements as to when the responses are due.
*Graded as "projects".

Please see or email Mrs. Marks w/any questions.
